Entry Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid foreign passport and must not hold Iranian citizenship. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 12 out of 20 (60 out of 100) is required; for certain ranked Iraqi universities a GPA of 58.5 or higher is acceptable, and for the universities of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriya and Kufa a GPA of 57 or higher. Persian language: an intermediate-level AMFA certificate must be provided after admission. Applicants holding only a basic-level certificate may enrol by committing to complete the intermediate level within the first academic year; the university helps refer students to in-person or virtual Persian courses. A Persian proficiency certificate is mandatory for graduation — without it, master's students cannot defend their thesis. Enrolment requires the acceptance letter received from IUST, and before attending in person the enrolment permit from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology must have been received by the university.
