Your data, explained plainly

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect when you use ParlаStudy, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal jargon.

Last updated: 7 September 2026

1. Who we are

ParlаStudy is a student placement service that helps international students apply to universities in Iran. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to ParlаStudy. “You” refers to anyone who visits this website or submits information to us.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill in an enquiry form, request a consultation, or contact us directly, we may collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number or messaging handle
  • Your country of residence and nationality
  • Your academic background — previous degree, grades, field of study
  • The programme, degree level, or university you are interested in
  • Any other details you choose to include in a message to us

If you go on to make a formal application, we will also need documents such as your academic transcripts, passport details, and certificates. We only request these once you have decided to proceed, and we tell you at the time why each document is needed.

Information collected automatically

Our web server keeps short-lived technical logs when you visit — the page requested, the time, and your browser type — to keep the site running and secure. These logs are not linked to you, are not kept beyond routine server maintenance, and are not used to build a profile of you. Anything beyond this is recorded only with your permission, as described next.

How you use this website (only with your permission)

If you allow analytics in the privacy banner, we record how the site is used: the pages you open, the programmes and universities you look at, what you search for and which filters you apply, comparisons you make, and which buttons you click. We store the country reported by our network provider and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. We never store your IP address, we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking, and no third party receives this information.

If you later send us an enquiry from the same browser, we connect that browsing history to your enquiry so a counselor can see what you were interested in before contacting you. Without your permission, nothing is recorded and nothing is connected.

Your study profile

To advise you well we may ask a few optional questions — your budget, who is funding your studies, when you want to start, your previous education, and the destinations you are also considering. You can answer them after the enquiry form, in your student portal, or on a call with a counselor. Each answer is recorded together with who gave it (you, a counselor, or the agent who introduced you). If you allowed analytics, we may also note interests inferred from your browsing; these are always labelled as inferred, never treated as something you told us, and never used to decide fees.

3. Why we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
  • Assess which universities and programmes you are eligible for
  • Submit your application to universities you have asked us to apply to
  • Assist with your student visa application where you have asked us to
  • Send you updates about your application status
  • Improve the website and the accuracy of the information we publish

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Who we share it with

We share your information only in these situations:

  • Universities you apply to. To process an application we must send your details and documents to the relevant university admissions office. We only do this for universities you have specifically asked us to apply to.
  • Visa and immigration authorities. Where you have asked us to support your student visa application, the relevant embassy or ministry will require your details.
  • The education agent who introduced you. If you came to us through a partner agency, school or consultant, they can follow the progress of your application in their own dashboard and see the programmes you looked at on our site — but not your browsing history, our internal notes, or anything about other students. You can switch this off in the “Your data” section of your student portal at any time.
  • Service providers. We use third-party services to run this website and our email — for example hosting, database, and email delivery providers. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
  • Where the law requires it. If we are legally obliged to disclose information, we will.

5. How long we keep it

If you make an enquiry but do not proceed with an application, we keep your details for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then delete them. If you become an applicant, we keep your records for as long as needed to support your studies and to meet any record-keeping obligations we have with universities and authorities. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see section 7.

  • Detailed browsing records are kept for 12 months, then reduced to monthly totals that cannot identify anyone.
  • The scrambled network identifier we keep for abuse prevention is deleted after 30 days.
  • Enquiries that did not proceed are anonymised after 24 months without contact.
  • When you ask us to erase your data, we remove your name, contact details, documents, notes and browsing records within 30 days; we keep only a record that you asked, and anonymous statistics such as “one applicant from Ghana enrolled in 2027”.

6. How we protect it

Your data is stored on access-controlled servers. Connections to this website are encrypted in transit. Access to applicant records is limited to the ParlаStudy staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your information
  • Stop sending you messages
  • Provide a copy of your data in a portable format

If you have a student portal link, you can do most of this yourself: the “Your data” section lets you download everything we hold as a file, switch marketing messages and agent sharing on or off, and ask for erasure with one click. Otherwise, email us using the address in section 10. We will respond within 30 days. If your application is already in progress with a university, note that we may not be able to withdraw information already submitted to them — but we will tell you clearly what we can and cannot do.

8. Cookies and your choices

We use only our own cookies. The first time you visit, a banner asks what you allow. Nothing beyond the necessary cookies is set until you choose. “Accept all” allows analytics and marketing; “Customize preferences” shows the individual switches, which are on unless you turn them off, and “Only necessary” declines both. Your choice is kept for 12 months and can be changed below.

Campaign codes and partner referral codes in the address you arrived from are kept in your browser’s local storage for 90 days so that your enquiry is credited correctly; they do not identify you and are not sent anywhere until you submit a form. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though signed-in areas will not work if you do.

Your current choice on this browser

You have not made a choice yet — only necessary cookies are in use.

9. Children

Our service is intended for people applying to higher education, generally aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Contact us

If you have a question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights in section 7, contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If the change is significant and affects people who have already applied through us, we will contact those applicants directly.
