Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold an MSc degree from an accredited institution approved by the competent authorities, with a minimum GPA of 14 out of 20 (2.8 out of 4.0). Admission also requires the approval of the relevant faculty, based on the applicant's scientific abilities, educational and research background, and the fit of that background with the requested field, per the Admission Council's approvals. The PhD programme for international students is research-based: candidates take only two courses, chosen by their supervisor, at any time during their studies. There is no qualification exam — students instead defend their PhD proposal in an oral session. International students may write their thesis in English. There is no application deadline: PhD applications are processed by the department on a rolling basis and results are announced within two months.
