Questions every Nigerian student asks
Is an Iranian medical degree recognized in Nigeria?
Iranian MBBS degrees from accredited universities are eligible for evaluation by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). We guide you through the recognition process before you enrol so there are no surprises.
How do I get a student visa for Iran?
After receiving your acceptance letter from the university, you apply at the Iranian Embassy in Abuja or Lagos. We prepare your full documentation package. Processing typically takes 4–8 weeks.
Is the degree taught in English or Farsi?
Medicine, Engineering, and most postgraduate programs for international students are taught entirely in English. Some programs require basic Farsi — we provide a free preparatory course.
Is Iran safe for Nigerian students?
University campuses are secure with strict access control. Over 50,000 foreign students currently study in Iran, many from Africa. Nigerian students are represented by the Nigerian Embassy in Tehran which provides consular support.
What are the minimum entry requirements?
Undergraduate: minimum 60% in WAEC/NECO, IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Medicine requires 70%+. We assess your eligibility for free before any commitment.
Is there a Nigerian student community in Iran?
Yes. Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz all have active Nigerian and West African student associations that organise social events and support new arrivals. You will not be alone.
